“Editorial: No good would come from release of photos.” Detroit Free Press Editorial. May 5th, 2011: “Critics such as former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, who decried Obama’s decision to withhold corpse photos as presidential “pussyfooting,” under-appreciate the commander in chief’s responsibility to factor in the response of citizens around the world, as well as the druthers of constituents eager to witness a victory lap. In making the courageous decision to resist that crowd-pleasing indulgence, Obama demonstrated that he is worthy of that responsibility.”
