Ted Christopher. Comment on Dot Earth, New York Times, article “Imagine Everyone Was Equal, in Emissions”, by Andrew C. Revkin February 15, 2008 – On the ethical front, the industrialized world has a responsibility to move with diligence towards lower emissions. In the developingworld they need to push for smaller families (and we should help). But the underlying idea that a co uple having 6 kids should have the same per capita offspring-consumption expectations as a couple having 2 kids is not logical or good. On a national scale, India is going on tripling their population since independence, does this mean they should now expect 3 times as much resources from the world’s pool?
