Argument: Coca exception undermines integrity of drug war

A US official said in January of 2011: “over the long term is not good for the planet’s efforts to control and eventually solve the problem of drug abuse.”[1]

The Vienna-based UN International Narcotics Control Board (INCB) said exceptions for Bolivia would undermine international narcotics control efforts: “Such (an) approach would undermine the integrity of the global drug control system, undoing the good work of governments over many years.”[2]
