Darla Andrews, a member of the Minneapolis-based Health Partners, was reported saying in an August 2009 CNN article: “I like the small community feel of here. It’s more personal attention.”[1] Large insurance companies and bureaucracies lose their community feel very easily. Co-ops that scale at a local level can compete more effectively with the idea that they are more community-oriented and easy to deal with in this regard.
