“Don’t ban four loco in N.H.” The New Hampshire, Editorial. November 12th, 2010: “Let’s be clear. You can consume Four Loko responsibly. Taking a sip of the beverage doesn’t immediately turn you into an animal.”

Phusion Products, the manufacturer of Four Loko, defended its product in November of 2010, saying “We have repeatedly contended — and still believe, as do many people throughout the country — that the combination of alcohol and caffeine is safe. If it were unsafe, popular drinks like rum and colas or Irish coffees that have been consumed safely and responsibly for years would face the same scrutiny that our products have recently faced.”[1]

Phusion Beverages denies any impropriety and it insists Four Loko is safe, with an alcohol content “on par with some premium beers and about as much caffeine as a large cup of coffee.”

“When consumed responsibly, Four Loko is just as safe as any other alcoholic beverage.”[2]
