Argument: Blockade is not causing a humanitarian crisis in Gaza

Issue Report: Israeli blockade of Gaza

Support

Israeli PM, Benjamin Netanyahu: “There is no humanitarian crisis in Gaza. Each week, an average of 10,000 tons of goods go into Gaza. There’s no shortage of food, medicine, or other goods.”[1]

On a separate occasion, he said the same thing in slightly different words: “there’s no humanitarian crisis in Gaza. Each week an average of 10,000 tons of goods enter Gaza. There’s no shortage of food. There’s no shortage of medicine. There’s no shortage of other goods. So our naval personnel had no choice but to board these vessels.”[2]
