But even if all the kangaroos behaved like sheep in accepting artificial food, we know that when graziers supply stockfeed to keep animals alive in a drought, pressure on the existing vegetation becomes intense. At both Belconnen and Majura, grasslands and endangered species are threatened with extinction. The kangaroos are not.
Supplementary feeding could allow the kangaroo population to increase even further, possibly leading ultimately to an even bigger cull.”
