October 18, 2007 – “It is true that education can add new boost into the effective learning of students, but somehow the delivery of contents can differ by the software used for online presentation and also the compatibility of software with individual computers. Some software works well with new computers running all the latest processors and underperform when in use with computers running old processors. Unless the delivery of content is made uniform, introduction of new technologies and new media will continue to have limited impact. Hence there is a need for advanced technologies to be exported unconditionally to third world and developing countries.”

October 18, 2007 – “I find the health sector initiative in appropriate technology for health — especially in PATH, the Program for Appropriate Technology in Health — relevant to this debate. Although PATE (programs for appropriate technology in education) isn’t as inspiring as PATH, it is vital to bring the question of appropriateness to each application of technology in education. If the technology is not appropriate to the task, better to leave it aside. I’m all for examining new technologies, but implementing them needs to be appropriate.”

Nuclear fission is a classic example. France generates all of it’s electircity from nuclear plants. Yet same technology is one of the biggest threat to humanity. So, technology can enhance the education, but who uses it and how they use it will determine, if it makes any difference.”
